This subject has been asked before on whether or not they would work

the Guy that built these plates claims to use 3/8" plate and the 351m/400 Motor mounts even
posted a picture

of the mount plates he also claims that these plates puts the engine in the correct
position and lines the fan lines up correctly with the Radiator.

My discovery is this claim of his is incorrect
I built the plates according to his description and pictures.
First of all I didn't need to build the plates,
all I would have to do was set the 351/400 mount in
to realize that the mount moves the 460 engine up a solid inch higher then the original 351/400
height.
This makes sense as the 460 is a wider engine thus the wedge shape of the engine would naturally sit higher

the Picture above shows the different mounts

far left is a factory 460 80-97 mount, left is 400 mount with 3/8s adapter plate, right is a L&L mount and far right is a 400 mount without plate

(I am a slow learner so I built the plates).
The plates being built was a rather easy process
since I had a 351 on the stand and a 460 block on the floor.
I installed the plates with the 351/400 motor mount just to discover that the 460 engine sat almost 2" higher then the 351m.
I measured the cross member to the fan of the 351m and of the 460.

The frame is a 1979 3/4 4x4 frame.
so in my research of these swap plates is that the plates will not work I do not recommend buying or making these plates hope this info helps
have a good one.
